The manager of taxpayers’ services Education and Business Registration at the Domestic Taxes Department and Supervisor of Taxpayers Identification Number (TIN), Ms. Matilda Zainab Kamara, received a Special Recognition Award from the National Corporate Women’s Awards (NCWA) on 7th December, 2022, at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Freetown.

She was awarded for her outstanding performance and commitment to excellence, professionalism and career growth exhibited in the past years. Over the years, she has demonstrated excellence and the high standards of ethical conduct, integrity and professional responsibilities.

Ms. Matilda Zainab Kamara, holds two master’s degrees in Business Administration and Mphil Taxation. She is a highly skilled Taxpayer /Client engagement Professional in the tax administration profession with over 12 years of practical knowledge gained through working with the Sierra Leone National Revenue Authority; as Manager of Taxpayer Services, Education and Business Registration Police, in implementing key tax policies and administrative structures.

 Ms. Matilda has executed strategic government leading programs like the Tax Identification Number (TIN), ensuring that the National Revenue Authority captures accurate and up-to-date information on all registered taxpayers/clients, as a crucial step in promoting tax compliance – She is part of a vibrant team that addresses tax education, facilitating the Domestic Tax Department’s internal training on tax contents and a change agent on the reforms; Goods and Services Tax (GST), Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) and Electronic Cash Register (ECR).

The National Corporate Women’s Awards (NCWA) endorses and celebrates women in business, professions, public service, non-profits and politics who have successfully launched and grow their businesses, and succeeded in their careers or professions.

The awards provide an opportunity to support and share in our vision to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking enterprising, professional and business women nationally.
