NRA Commissioner General Attends Tax Administration Master Class Conference in Rwanda

Taking charge of the responsibility of driving massive revenue mobilization, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray, the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), is currently participating in a two-day international Master class for heads of Tax Administration from various countries in the World. The conference, themed “Enhancing Transparency: Empowering individuals, Teams, and organizations through Purposeful Leadership,” is being held in Kigali, Rwanda, one of the most developed countries in Africa.

As the newly appointed Commissioner General, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray is determined to start his tenure on a positive note by learning from and sharing experiences with other leaders who have achieved development through taxation. Recognizing the significance of this opportunity to enhance the capabilities of the NRA, which serves as the foundation for national development, the Master class aims to empower leaders, their teams, and the organizations or MDAs they represent by imparting valuable leadership skills.

Speaking to The Owl Newspaper from Kigali, The Commissioner General Ibrahim Brima Swarray, expressed his delight at attending his first conference as the head of the NRA on Tax Administration and promised to effectively utilise the knowledge gains for the betterment of the country “I am happy to attend my first official conference as NRA Commissioner General, and I promise to utilise the knowledge and expertise gained from this training to effectively increase revenue generation in Sierra Leone” he affirms. This responsibility was entrusted to him by President Julius Maada Bio, who expects him to handle it to the fullest extent. Chief Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the leadership Master class in achieving his current goal of raising the bar in revenue generation for the implementation of development projects in the country. He further emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the knowledge and experience gained from the conference are shared with all leaders to foster effective teamwork.

The two-day conference will conclude on August 17, 2023. During this time, the Commissioner General will actively engage with other leaders to establish partnerships and bilateral ties in Tax Administration, aiming to enhance his sector’s performance.
