On Tuesday, 15th September 2020, the National Public Procurement Authority as required by the Public Procurement Act, 2016 and in line with the pronouncement by the Chief Executive, Mr. Ibrahim Brima Swarray at the launch of the Public Procurement Manual, embarked on a nationwide training of procurement practitioners on the Second Edition of the Public Procurement Manual at the e-GP Training Centre, Lotto House, Tower Hill, Freetown.
The training is being coordinated by the Capacity Building Directorate of the NPPA that is charged with the responsibility to undertake training and capacity building of all persons concerned in public procurement. The upgrading of the recently launched Public Procurement Manual was funded by the European Union which said upgrading was geared towards incorporating provisions in the Public Procurement Act, 2016 and the Public Procurement Regulation, 2020.
The training also includes components of framework contract, contract administration, Procurement Reporting, Procurement Planning and supplier registration among others.
The training in Freetown will target one hundred and thirty procurement practitioners from all MDAs and will be conducted in several sessions that will be cascaded to the provinces subsequently.
