Notorious Lebanese Blamed for Scarlett Shooting

It is now clear as day light  that a Lebanese-Sierra Leone national by the name of Hussein Fawaz that actually ignited the awkward event that unfolded at Aberdeen on New Year’s eve, at the Scarlett Nightclub at Aberdeen, which culminated to the frequent troubleshooter being shot and have to be flown out of the country.

Hussein Fawz was and is still considered to be seriously at fault as it was strongly established  that he initiated the fight by hitting a Ghanaian businessman in the head with a missile leaving him with multiple wounds on his head. The Ghanaian was arrested as part of the investigations.

The whole issue, it was reliably learnt, started when a table reservation for the Ghanaian businessman was made. Fawaz, who did not have a reservation, had already occupied the reserved table, which had been reserved by the Ghanaian man. However, Hussein insisted that he wanted to spend the night at that table for reasons best known to himself, despite attempts made by the scarlet staff members’ to offer him another alternative.

At that point, Fawaz pounced on the Ghanaian and hit him on his head.

In the wake of the unfortunate incident many have been asking pertinent questions that require answers: Why did Fawaz Hussein insist on sitting around that table that has been reserved for another guest?  Why is it that the Lebanese Community not issued a Press Release or Statement on the issue? Is it because they know about his notoriety or that it mirrors what transpires behind closed doors in terms of how certain Lebanese relate to Sierra Leoneans?

According to a Social Commentator of high repute, the incident just exposed how certain Lebanese nationals think they are demi-gods who , because of wealth and influence, can just do anything and get away with it just because they believe that they can buy their freedom.

“That trend started from the days of Jamil Sahid Mohamed who was more powerful than President JS Momoh at a given time in the history of this country and it still continues,” he lamented .He expressed disgust over the way and manner in which some unscrupulous Lebanese nationals are maltreating Sierra Leoneans in their employ with impunity all ending as buff cases even when some of the victims strenuously attempt to assert their rights from a Judiciary that has been marred by corrupt practices but in futility.

It has been ascertained that even though there was maximum security present, unknown to many enjoying themselves, the rapidity of the events that led to the shooting did not give chance to the security to prevent it from happening.

Some have expressed the view that the incident should be a lesson to cocky Lebanese nationals that they should be aware that money cannot get them everything the require or desire and to treat others with respect and dignity.

All efforts to reach Mr. Fawaz proved futile .
