The newly elected executive of Legal Access through Women Yearning for Equality, Rights and Social Justice (L.A.W.Y.E.R.S) has paid a courtesy visit to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq., to discuss collaboration on strengthening gender justice and improving access to justice for vulnerable women in Sierra Leone.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm their shared commitment to promoting equality before the law and ensuring that women and girls—particularly those in marginalized communities—have access to legal support and fair representation.

During the engagement, the LAWYERS executive highlighted their vision to deepen partnerships with government institutions, especially the Ministry of Justice, in advancing women’s rights, expanding legal literacy, and addressing barriers that hinder access to justice.

The Attorney General commended the new executive for their dedication and expertise, expressing optimism about the collaboration ahead.

“The visit provided an opportunity to discuss our collective commitment to gender justice as well as several ways we can collaborate in strengthening access to justice, especially for vulnerable women in Sierra Leone,” said Attorney General Alpha Sesay

The new leadership of LAWYERS reaffirmed its readiness to work with state and non-state actors to promote gender-responsive justice delivery and enhance the protection of women’s rights across Sierra Leone.
