NASSIT Engages Multilateral Companies to Enforce Compliance

In a bid to enforce compliance and get feedback on the Trust’s service delivery, a team of Senior Management staff comprising the Director General, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, the Deputy Director General, for Operations, Edwin Mohamed Kamara, the Acting General Manager of Operations, Mohamed Sam and Executive Assistant to the Director General, Victor Samar, engaged in a week long intensive outreach to multilateral companies across the country. 

This nationwide engagement, which commenced with Koidu Ltd on Tuesday 8th August, ran through Leone Rock, Kingho Rail and Port, SOCFIN , and Marampa mines and ended on Saturday 12th August at the Sierra Tropical Ltd in Pujehun District, South of Sierra Leone. 

The objective of the engagements, among others, was to enforce compliance with the NASSIT Act of July 2001, get feedback from the companies on the services delivered by NASSIT, discuss emerging issues and their challenges and to come up with joint solutions to those challenges. Critical among these issues were the enforcement of the Social Security Clearance Certificate and the payment of Social Security contributions in respect of foreign and casual workers. 

The executives of the companies visited expressed their delight and gratitude to the Director General of NASSIT for his leadership and commitment and requested for continued collaboration.

Enormous lessons were learned and noted for review by management to enhance operational efficiency.
