Vacancy Announcement Position: Procurement Officer
Location: 65 New Makeni Highway, Lunsar, Portloko District
Organization: Marampa and Maforki Chiefdom Community Development Committee
Overview:
The Marampa and Maforki Chiefdom Community Development Committee is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Officer to manage and oversee all procurement activities in compliance with the Sierra Leone Procurement Act of 2016 and the Procurement Regulations of 2020.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Planning:
o Develop and implement procurement plans in alignment with organizational
goals and budgets.
o Forecast procurement needs and establish timelines for delivery.
2. Supplier Management:
o Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-
efficiency.
o Maintain a database of reliable suppliers and manage relationships effectively.
3. Tendering and Contracting:
o Prepare and manage the tendering process, including the preparation of tender
documents, evaluation of bids, and contract award.
o Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in a transparent and
competitive manner. 4. Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure all procurement processes comply with the Sierra Leone Procurement Act of 2016 and the Procurement Regulations of 2020.
o Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procurement activities.
o Prepare and submit regular procurement reports to management. 5. Inventory Management:
o Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.
o Ensure inventory levels are maintained and updated regularly. 6. Risk Management:
o Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.
o Ensure that procurement practices are ethical and free from conflicts of interest.
Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- · Minimum of 5 years of experience in public procurement.
- · Thorough understanding of the Sierra Leone Procurement Act of 2016 and the
Procurement Regulations of 2020.
- · Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- · Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
