On the eve of the voter registration exercise scheduled from September 3rd to 4th October 2022, Solicitor Alice Kornya Sandy who doubles as the parliamentary hopeful for Constituency 016, presented 10 megaphones, five bags of 50kg rice, a sound speaker, five packets of vinic batteries, stationery and two thousand Leones cash (Two Million old notes) to the Constituency 016 Executive for the robust voter registration sensitization and campaign. The constituency Secretary Mr Brima Morie Foray received the items including other executive members.
In her brief presentation, Alice Kornya Sandy Esq said, “the voter registration process helps to enfranchise all eligible voters and contributes to the country’s ability to realize the principle of “one person, one vote, one value.”
She maintained that it is the National Electoral Commission’s responsibility and the authorities to ensure that the voter register is inclusive, accurate and comprehensive and that its processes are transparent to all stakeholders. She called on all and sundry to fully exercise their civic licenses to register from September 3rd to 4th October 2022, to re-elect President Julius Maada Bio and change the political system in Constituency 016.
