The Director General of the National Communications Authority (NatCA), Amara Brewah, on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of NatCA, donated a consignment of food items to three churches and three mosques on Friday, 21st March 2025.
As Muslims and Christians observe the Ramadan and Lent fasting seasons respectively, the NatCA DG, in his brief address to the beneficiaries at the NatCA headquarters, Hill Station in Freetown, noted that Sierra Leone is a unique country that enjoys religious and political tolerance. He further stated that, since both religious groups are observing their respective fasting seasons almost simultaneously, NatCA management found it fitting to support both Muslims and Christians with food items to aid their religious exercise.

He added that NatCA consistently supports communities from time to time as a way of giving back to society.
He informed the audience that the selection of the churches and mosques was done randomly, and assured that another set of religious institutions would benefit in the future. He encouraged both religious groups to continue promoting tolerance and mutual support, stating that this is the best path for any nation to thrive.

Leaders of the two faiths present expressed gratitude to God and NatCA for remembering them with such a generous gesture during a time of great need. They jointly emphasized the importance of giving to those in need, as taught in both the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible.
Ben Foday served as Chairman of the auspicious event. Earlier, he narrated the history of NatCA and highlighted the importance of its services to the country. He urged members of the different faiths present to always demonstrate love and unity, not just during Lent or Ramadan.

The high point of the short event was a photo session and the distribution of gifts. Each of the six groups received ten (10) bags of rice, two (2) bags of onions, two (2) bags of salt, one (1) jerry can of cooking oil, two (2) bags of flour, two (2) boxes of Maggi, and two (2) bags of sugar.
