Hon. Haja Miatta Amara, Member of Parliament for the Western Area Rural District, will be celebrated at the 7th Annual Humanitarian Goodwill Awards 2025 for her remarkable contributions to humanitarian work, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development in Sierra Leone.
Hon. Miatta’s life journey is a testament to service, compassion, and leadership. She has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable women, orphans, and persons with disabilities through initiatives such as the Haja Miatta Support Group. She also founded the Mountain Agricultural Development Organisation (MADO), which empowers women in agriculture and creates sustainable livelihoods across the country.
As the first female MP to represent Constituency 112, Hon. Miatta has championed laws and policies that advance women’s empowerment, promote girls’ education, and foster inclusion for persons with disabilities. Her leadership as Chairperson of the Social Welfare Committee, along with her service on key parliamentary committees, reflects her unwavering commitment to equity and social progress.

Her impact has been widely recognized. Hon. Miatta has been named among the 30 Most Influential Women in the Western Area Rural District and the 50 Most Influential Women in Sierra Leone, inspiring a new generation of women leaders to rise and lead with purpose.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, starting at 5:00 PM. Attendees will gather to honor her achievements and celebrate her ongoing contributions to the people of Sierra Leone.
