Hon. Emerson Lamina Commissions Public Toilets in Koidu

The Hon. Member of Parliament for constituency 030, Honourable SAA EMERSON LAMINA in collaboration with Diaspora Kono Reunion has today, the 24th August, 2020, commissioned and handed over a ten room ultra Modern Public Toilet to the people of Constituency 030 and KONO District at large. The Public Toilet is constructed at the Konomanyie Lorry Park, Gbenseh Chiefdom, Koidu City, KONO DISTRICT.

It is said that: “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go”.

These golden words of T.S. Eliot are in similitude to the extent at which HONOURABLE EMERSON LAMINA has gone in order to bring developments to his Constituency: He has gone far beyond boundaries and empires; he has gone far beyond the skyline of his responsibility as a member of Parliament just to sate and quench the thirsty needs of his constituents.

The commissioning and handing over procession started with an opening prayer from Rev. Papa Salas Kamano and progressed with a general fatiha and introduction of the chairman of the occasion, C A Tiffa.

The chairman cum Chief Administrator of Koidu City, Mr. Tiffa initiated by stating that the purpose of the gathering was to commission and handover the ultra Modern Public Toilet that has been constructed by childhood buddies of the Honourable Member of PARLIAMENT, SAA EMERSON LAMINA. He went on to maintaining that  this particular development is an epoch that has never happened in the history of Konomanyie Park and KONO DISTRICT as a whole. He thanked the MP in collaboration with ‘Kono Reunion’ for a $12,000,00 job well done.

Saa Kongba Fengai, the zonal Chairman of chairmen of the 25 zones of Constituency 030 described this epoch event to be a Zeitgeist, and named the many developmental strives of the MP which included the ongoing school construction, the rehabilitation and construction of hand dug pumps and the ultra Modern Public Toilet. He eulogized the Hon. Man for a job well done.

The Constituency coordinator, Agibu Koineh vigorously noted the ugly incident that led to the construction of the public toilet. He thank Hon. Emerson as he referred to him as the people’s Honourable, the developmental and the caring Honourable.

Councilor Mariama adumbrated the many developmental plans of the People’s Honourable, thanked him and encouraged the market women to use the facility well as expected by Kono Reunion.

Councilor Aiah Moiba Missa, aka Turp Ten expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the people for electing the best MP ever in the history of Kono District. He thanked him for undertaking all the numerous developments in the district. He ended off by encouraging everyone to use the facility well.

Kumba Jabbie, the Chairlady for Constituency 030 emphatically stated that Hon. EMERSON has made the C4C to be proud by achieving what has never been done in Konomanyie Park. She said that C4C must always be maintained and rounded off her submission with a million thanks to the Honourable Member for such a historic accomplishment.

Marta Feas, Chairlady, Konomanyie Park Plaintain Women supremely upheld the fact that Hon. Emerson is the Joseph of Kono through whom God is blessing the district just as God used Joseph to bless the house of Jacob. She praised and blessed Honourable EMERSON for bringing respect to the women of Konomanyie Park by providing them a dignified public toilet.

Secretary for Motor Drivers Union, Mr. Fayia Nyuma expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the Hon. Member and Kono Reunion for this epoch making development. He stated that no Honourable Member has ever done a single thing for the Konomanyie Lorry Park. He referenced the Water facility the Hon. Member previously provided them with via Diaspora Kono Reunion prior to the construction of the public toilet. He thanked the Honourable Member and prayed that God continue to bless him and uplift him.

The bike riders Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Koroma noted that the Hon. Member’s developmental strives started since his days as a Mayor. Mr. Koroma referenced the numerous developments of Hon. EMERSON which include but not limited to bike donations, cash, cement, zinc, hand dug well and toilets construction among many other developments.

A civil society representative from NMJD Sahr Joe, identified Hon. EMERSON to be the first Hon. to donate to DECOVERC  when the corona pandemic brokeout. He thanked and encouraged him for this huge contribution to the welfare of Konomanyie Park and KONO District at large.

Mrs. Tongue, the SLPP Chairlady, Kono District, thanked the Honourable Man and stated that everyone in this world needs a toilet, and for the Honourable Member to sit and think of constructing an ultra Modern Public Toilet is a good thing that deserves a million plaudit.

The Regional Publicity Secretary for the APC Party, Momoh Tamba Musa honoured the Hon. Member for not keeping his salary to himself alone and for thinking the people who voted him. He maintained that the APC being a  developmental party will always continue to throw unrestrained support to his developmental strives whenever called upon.

Mr. Mohameh Yeroh Bah, the Vice Chairman for the C4C Party in Kono District said that for the past fifty years, no MP has ever undertaken such a stunning and prodigious venture. He thanked him for the public toilet and ended off by stating other huge developmental ventures that had already been  undertaken by Hon. Emerson. He beseeched the people of Kono to always stand with the C4C party and continue to vote C4C.

The Senior Section Chief, Gbenseh Chiefdom who received the mike with a permission from his Boss, the Hon. PC Sahr Fengai Kaimachende,  Alhaji Komba Manchende thanked and blessed the Hon. Member for his stupendous contributions to the development of Kono District and encouraged him to continue with the good work.

Hon. Musa Fofonah, aka the Bulldozer acknowledged the presence of all presented. He maintained that Hon. Emerson is a fine leader who has done everything possible to keep the C4C alive. He talked on the leadership dexterity of Hon. EMERSON and how it has taken them into better committees in the Well of Parliament. He stated that C4C would not have achieved a single thing in the Well of Parliament if not for Hon. Emerson. He went on to note that C4C would always be at the top as long as Hon. Emerson continues to be the leader of the party in PARLIAMENT. He rounded off by stating that the days of backbiting and practicing politics of deceit is over. He encouraged MPs to come out and do the need of the people.

Alhaji Yangema who spoke on behalf of Diaspora Kono Reunion thanked the Hon. Man and made reference to his previous developmental strives.

The Hon. Man himself is asked to make a statement in which he started off by recognizing the presence of all political parties and identified the people involved in the ‘Kono Reunion’ Organization. He said that the union consist of  Indigenous Kono born Fullahs and Mandingoes in the US and UK. He maintained that most of these guys were his childhood friends, and it is they who came together and helped fueled the construction of the said toilet. He stated that he is handing over the facility to the Koidu City Council in corroboration with his Constituency zonal leaders for proper care.

In his final submission, he upheld that standing for the vital interest of Kono has always been his priority. He preached that Kono should desist from hating one another and maintain peace and unity among one another because we are all just one people, connected by one district.

The Kakapo Chairlady at  Konomanyie Park gave the vote of thanks. She thanked Kono Reunion and the Hon. Man for saving them from the terrible shame and disgrace of not having a Public Toilet in the Park.

The whole procession was climaxed with the market women of Konomanyie Park singing and chatting in chorus, both in KONO and krio languages as they dance in celebration of the newly constructed ultra Modern Public Toilet done by Diaspora Kono Reunion co funded by the Parliamentary Leader of C4C, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina
