One of the most popular and grounded politician and humanitarian in Sierra Leone, Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has again put similes on the faces of women right across Sierra Leone.
It was a seen full of merriment and appreciation at the Freetown Teachers’ College (FTC) in Jui Junction as Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally launched the Visionary Women’s Cooperative Society with the sole aim of empowering women and ensure that they are financially stable in society.
Speaking at the launch on behalf of his boss (Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally) the Coordinator of the Agenda Musa Trawally 2028, Ambassador Bockarie Ensa disclosed that Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally is supporting 20 Women’s Cooperative Societies right across Sierra Leone with the sum of Two Hundred Million Leones (Le200,000,000) each.
Ambassador Bockarie Ensa maintained that the Agenda is also part of their support to President Bio in order to help him succeed noting that is it always clear that government alone cannot employ everybody in the country for which Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has taken it upon himself to help in empowering the women and the grassroot people.
Ambassador Ensa also pointed out that part of their Agenda is to see that SLPP retains power in 2028 which is the reason Alhaji Musa Tarawally is consolidating the base and softening the ground in order to ease any possible tension.
“We have be thinking as to how we can support the president to succeed, and one of the ideas is to establish cooperative societies across the country and we have set up these cooperative societies and have registered them with the cooperative office and all of them have certificates,” Ambassador Bockarie Ensa stated.
He expressed thanks to the office of Sierra Leone Cooperative Society for the skills and training given to the women’s cooperative society by way of enriching them with the required knowledge in order to enable them manage their affairs successfully.
He assured the women that Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has promised that should the women manage the resources well, he will do more to empower them. He said that the various women’s cooperative societies will be engaged in different activities in order to provide livelihood for other women, adding that part of these activities will be the provision of loan facility which he stressed is interest free as women who will receive loans from the cooperatives will pay back the exact amount received from the cooperatives.
In her statement, the Chairlady of the Visionary Women’s Cooperative Society, Madam Janet Moore, explained that in January of this year, she decided to that she wants to bring the women together for a progressive course and that she decided to contact Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally who she described as very passionate about the development and growth of women.
She revealed that immediately she told Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally about the initiative, he gave her the go ahead and promised to give his support 100%. She said that they started with 5 women and grow to more 150 women from different parts Freetown and the number keeps growing.
“I cannot talk here without mentioning the name of Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally. If am standing here today, it is because of Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally as he is the pillar of the Visionary Women Cooperative Society,” she disclosed. She expressed thanks on behalf of the Visionary Women’s Cooperative Society to Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarwally for his support to women and promised that they will always be with him.
