In an inspiring acceptance speech delivered on October 26, 2024, newly elected Chairman Comrade Karamoh Kabba of the All People’s Congress Former Ministers Association (FORMINA) expressed deep gratitude for the confidence bestowed upon the new executive team for the 2024-2025 term.
Kabba commended the outgoing executive, led by Comrade Chairman Nannette Thomas, for their significant accomplishments, including the formal registration of the association and the establishment of bank accounts, which have laid a solid foundation for future operations. “We promise to be inspired by their high standards and hard work, aiming to surpass their achievements for the greater good of our association,” Kabba stated.
Recognizing the challenges currently facing the APC, Kabba assured members that the new executive is ready to foster peace and motivate the party to success in future elections. He highlighted the substantial responsibility resting on the shoulders of the ten members of the association who aspire to lead the party, stating, “When we provide adequate leadership, our woes will be a thing of history.”
The chairman emphasized the wealth of knowledge and experience within the association, noting the presence of influential figures well-versed in governance and party dynamics. Kabba asserted that the time for action is now, urging members to engage fully with party leadership and rank-and-file supporters to restore the party’s trajectory toward prosperity.
Kabba outlined the new executive’s commitment to diversity, reintegration, and tolerance, urging members to unite around the party’s social democratic ideology rather than individual personalities. He called on the members to remember the sacrifices made by the founding fathers of the APC, who were steadfast in protecting the democratic rights of the people.
“We cannot afford to suffer from another constitutional coup against us,” he warned, referencing the party’s past challenges. Kabba reiterated the importance of being proactive in safeguarding votes, stating that the association must be a ready auxiliary to the party executive in securing fair elections.
Concluding his speech, he invoked the wisdom of Edmund Burke, reminding members that “bad things happen when good people do nothing.” Kabba’s passionate address called for unity and resilience among party members, laying the groundwork for a determined and collaborative future.
“God bless FORMINA! God bless the almighty APC!” he declared, as the audience erupted in applause, energized by his vision for the association’s role in the APC’s resurgence.
