Ethiopian Airlines has introduced new thrice-weekly passenger flights to Freetown, Sierra Leone, via Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, commencing today, May 31, 2024.
CEO Mesfin Tasew emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing African connectivity through air travel. Harold Bundu Safa, Sierra Leone’s ambassador to Ethiopia, commended Ethiopian Airlines for promoting African unity by expanding its flight network. The route will be operated using Ethiopian’s advanced Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Officials from the Tourism sector including the Minister, Nabeela Farida Tunis together with the Ministry of Transport, Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant stakeholders receiving Ethiopian Airline and holding the inaugural program for it operation in Sierra Leone.
The commencement of flight operations by one of Africa’s renowned airlines to Freetown increases International confidence in the destination and also attracts more visitors via Ethiopian Airline.
