The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has issued a public notice regarding scheduled power outages necessitated by critical infrastructure upgrades in Freetown.

Following the completion and activation of the Falcon Bridge Substation, EDSA is set to extend and install transfer buses for a newly installed 40MVA Power Transformer at the Freetown 161 Substation. To facilitate this operation seamlessly, EDSA Management has partnered with Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC)/Salini and Karpowership.

As a result, power supply connections to the Transfer Bus will be temporarily suspended on the following days:

Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

During these periods, customers can expect power outages as EDSA synchronizes the 40MVA transformer with the network distribution infrastructure.

These measures are essential for enhancing the reliability of power supply and enabling EDSA to efficiently deliver electricity to local communities.

EDSA acknowledges the inconvenience these outages may cause and assures customers that the scheduled times will be strictly adhered to. The Authority emphasizes that these upgrades are vital for improving service reliability and meeting growing energy demands across the region.
