The Chairman of Eastern End Lions Football Club, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., has announced a major financial boost for the club, including a significant increase in players’ salaries and additional funding aimed at securing the 2025/2026 Sierra Leone Premier League title.
Ambassador Navo made the announcement following a meeting with the E.E. Lions family on Tuesday, bringing together players, technical staff, coaches, management and supporters. The engagement focused on the team’s preparation for upcoming matches, long-term development plans and the club’s ambition to win more trophies.

The Chairman also confirmed the return of midfielder Moses Bankolay Coker to the squad after a prolonged injury layoff, describing his comeback as a morale boost for the team as the season progresses.
Reflecting on his tenure since assuming the chairmanship, Ambassador Navo said the club has prioritised unity, stability and strategic investment to restore and maintain E.E. Lions’ status as one of Sierra Leone’s most historic and widely supported football clubs.

“We are investing more and providing every possible financial and technical resource to the team because of what this club represents to millions of people,” he stated.
In a major highlight of the announcement, Ambassador Navo disclosed that the club has allocated billions of leones in additional funding to the historic “Square” as part of its title charge for the 2025/2026 season.
He revealed that players will receive a salary increase of more than 100 percent compared to the previous year.

The Chairman further noted that the investment comes alongside the ongoing construction of a modern playing facility at the Trade Centre, which is expected to enhance training standards and overall performance.
Describing E.E. Lions as one of the most solid clubs in African football, Ambassador Navo expressed confidence that the club’s growth capacity, renewed investment and winning mentality famously known as “The Killers” will sustain its dominance in domestic football.

“Our ambition, innovation and values will ensure we remain champions and one of Sierra Leone’s leading clubs in the years ahead,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman called on supporters to turn out in large numbers as the club takes on Wilberforce FC in a crucial league fixture at the Approved School Playing Field. He expressed optimism that the team’s determination and renewed focus would soon see E.E. Lions top the league table.
E.E. Lions Football Club is targeting nothing short of clinching the 2025/2026 Sierra Leone Premier League title, with the Chairman extending gratitude to players, supporters and fans around the world for their continued loyalty and support.
