
In a ceremony celebrating commitment and service, Hon. Diana Finda Konomanyi has been honored with the ECO APC National Recognition and Achievement Award—a testament to her unwavering dedication to the All People’s Congress (APC) and the nation of Sierra Leone.
Known affectionately as “Our Lady Diana,” Konomanyi hails from Kono District, a politically strategic region often credited with influencing the outcome of national elections.
A stalwart of the APC since her teenage years, Madam Diana has served the party and country with distinction, breaking barriers and paving the way for women in politics.Her loyalty to the party deepened in 2002 under the leadership of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

Following the APC’s electoral victory in 2007, she was entrusted with several critical national roles. Notably, she became the first female District Council Chairperson of Kono District, managing its affairs with a firm and progressive vision. She later served as the first female Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, and subsequently, as Minister of Lands, where she led one of the most challenging ministries in any government.
Recognizing her pioneering achievements and steadfast contributions, ECO APC—a platform aimed at documenting and preserving the APC’s legacy—selected Madam Diana among a distinguished group of party heroes to share insights and historical perspectives with the younger generation.In her feature interview, she shared reflections on her political journey, the values of the APC, and her hopes for the party’s future.

Her message to the APC leadership was clear and passionate: “Promote unity and peace within the APC, for these are the pillars that will lead us to success in the 2028 elections. Readiness should be our anthem, and unity our hallmark—for in the struggle of the APC, there is victory.
“Madam Diana’s recognition by ECO APC not only honors her individual accomplishments but also highlights the importance of sustained leadership, party loyalty, and the role of women in national development.
