The Court of Appeal has issued a bench warrant for Mohamed Kamaraiba Mansaray, an appellant and convict, along with his surety, Isha Baby Mansaray of No. 7 Tucker Drive, Majay Town, after both individuals failed to appear before the court.
The decision was made following non-compliance with a recent court directive, prompting the judiciary to take legal action to ensure their presence. A bench warrant authorizes law enforcement to arrest and present the individuals before the court.
“Mansaray, who is appealing his conviction, was expected to appear before the appellate judges for further proceedings. As his surety, Isha Baby Mansaray had a legal obligation to ensure his attendance in court. Her failure to do so has led to legal consequences, as sureties are responsible for the appearance of those they vouch for.
