Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers, Babadi Kamara, in a recent meeting with Traditional Rulers of Kono District, received their blessings and endorsement in Koidu City.
The gathering of Paramount Chiefs in the district was to get an insight into Babadi’s intention for the SLFA President and his journey to unify the country through football, which many Sierra Leoneans are enthusiastic about.
Babadi Kamara thanked the Paramount Chiefs for giving him the audience, adding that traditional rulers have always played a pivotal role in the country’s diversity; something he wants to deeply appreciate. He told them that their endorsement meant a lot to him as he plan to rebrand and shape our beautiful game.
“We must create a country that works for us all – a peaceful and secure society, founded on law and order and the rule of law. A society that enables football and values results so that the game can grow as well as provide jobs and opportunities for millions of young people. A society where no one is left behind,” Babadi added.
He said the kind of Sierra Leone he is yarning to see is one that will have regular representation in the African Cup of Nations and the world stage.
“To these people of goodwill who are working hard to promote peace and tolerance, and to build a country that truly represents all of our dreams; to those working hard to build bridges, those who have refused to be frustrated or even wearied by the trials of our country football as it grows and continues into the fullness of its manifest destiny.”
Babadi Kamara ended by saying: “Over the years, the Paramount Chiefs have been at the forefront of ensuring that Sierra Leone gets fair due, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. I am honoured to have met and spoken to the Chiefs of Kono District.”
