The British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Lisa Chesney, has commenced a significant journey across the provinces of the country, aiming to engage with diverse voices and assess the extent of UK support beyond the capital city of Freetown.
In a recent post shared on the official Facebook page of the British High Commission, it was announced that Kono and Kabala are the first stops on this extensive tour. The post highlighted the importance of venturing beyond Freetown to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the needs and aspirations of communities across Sierra Leone. It stated, “Kono and Kabala here we come! Important to get out of Freetown to hear from diverse voices and see UK support throughout the country.”
Furthermore, the post outlined the forthcoming plans of the British High Commissioner and her team, revealing that in two weeks’ time, they will continue their journey to Pujehun and Moyamba. High Commissioner Lisa Chesney expressed eagerness to explore these new locales within “Mama Salone” (a local term of endearment for Sierra Leone).
