The Head of Brewah & Co. Law Firm, Amir Musa Mewa Esq., has commended Hon. Chief Justice Komba Kamanda for what he described as a “groundbreaking achievement” following the launch of the first-ever provincial sittings of the Court of Appeal in Sierra Leone.

Mewa praised the initiative as a major step toward judicial decentralization, noting that it marks a transformative moment in the country’s legal history.

“This is the biggest move in the judicial decentralization,” Mewa said. “I’m imagining attending appellate proceedings in the provinces for the first time in our country’s history. This development brings justice closer to the people and enhances access for those outside Freetown.”

He emphasized that the decision by Chief Justice Kamanda reflects a strong commitment to ensuring that justice delivery is inclusive, accessible, and people-centered, aligning with broader reforms within the judiciary aimed at strengthening the rule of law across Sierra Leone.
