The organisers behind the largest and most prestigious annual award ceremonies in the United States of America, AWOL America, will be holding its 8th Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony on 2nd September 2023, which is geared towards recognizing Sierra Leonean and non-citizens for their extraordinary achievements given back to society.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Arundel Live Casino Ballroom in Hanover, MD, USA.
This unforgettable moment is a time to celebrate and honor the incredible achievements of the AWOL AMERICA community. It aims to inspire people by the remarkable stories of individuals who have gone above and beyond to make a difference.
This in-person event promises to be a night filled with laughter, tears, and plenty of applause.
The AWOL AMERICA Achievement Awards has consistently honored outstanding individuals, organizations, and initiatives that have made remarkable contributions to society and inspired positive change in the community.
This year, they eagerly anticipate recognizing those who have gone above and beyond in their endeavors, leaving a lasting impact on the world.
The Awards Ceremony present different categories in which outstanding individuals have been nominated for. It comprises of the Moseray Fadika Humanitarian Award, Organization of the Year, Sierra Leone Thriving Local Business of the year, Sierra Leonean US base Actor/Actress of the Year, Alumni of the Year, Sierra Leone US/Canada based Musician/Artist of the Year, Sierra Leone US Canada based Musician/Artist Video song of the year, Best Disc Jockey (DJ) of the year, Best Social media Influencer of the year and Best New Artist of the Year – all these awards are up for grabs by outstanding and hardworking individuals.
Nominations was done by fellow members, the public, or through self-nomination and online.
People shared their reasons for the nomination and highlighted the nominee’s achievements, dedication, and commitment to creating a better world – all this makes the Awards more credible and enticing.
The chairperson for AWOL America, Ahmadu Benya, acknowledged that it is indeed a wonderful moment to celebrate and honor hardworking individuals.
He went on to say that as they prepare for such a memorable occasion, they extend their deepest gratitude to all supporters and patrons, without whom these awards would not be possible.
