The astute Director General (DG) of National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM), Daniel B. Kaitibi who was is in attendance at the 19th Annual General Assembly of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly in Conakry, Guinea last week has been elected 2nd Vice President of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly.
The West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) is a platform through which Telecommunications Regulators work together to broaden access to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services in the sub-region. WATRA promotes the adoption of best global practices that stimulate investment in telecommunications infrastructure and services, deliver affordable services to more citizens and connects people, societies and economies across West Africa and beyond.
At this year’s general assembly, Mr. Daniel B. Kaitibi was duly elected 2nd Vice Chairman of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly.
The new WATRA Chairman is now Sekou Oumar Barry, DG of ARPT Guinea who was the 1st Vice Chair replacing the Emeritus Professor Umar Garba Danbatta (Executive Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the NCC.
Issiakia Alhabibou, the chief of legal services at the AMRTP, the Telecommunications Regulator in Mali is now the 1st Vice Chairman.
