Young people from all walks of life, universities and other institutions across the country have heaped praises on Power Women 232 for organizing a most successful event which brought together young entrepreneurs and professionals on the theme: “Ignite the Spark: “Inspiring Entrepreneurs and Professionals on the journey towards success in all areas of life”
The one –day conference which took place on 25th November 2022 at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel attracted powerful motivators and speakers and young professionals from all walks of life who gathered to share their experiences and successes with the organizers, Power Women 232 and the general public.
According to the President of Power Women 232, Ajara Marie Bomah, the special event hosted by Power Women 232 was to bring together entrepreneurs, creatives and professionals from different industries to foster learning, collaboration, and networking.
She stated that the conference included a “mix of super panel discussions, workshops, career and business expos, fire side chats and much more. Our objective is to bring out the best and the brightest aspiring leaders together to discuss topics on various issues affecting both our personal and professional development”, she asserted.
Giving her keynote address, Madam Ndeye Fatu Koroma, who doubles as National Coordinator Sierra Leone Compact Development Unit, called on participants to focus on sharing their experiences for better understanding about each other’s respective approaches to different challenges in their respective fields.
She urged women especially to make very good use of the opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of other women and from the other participants in general.
What thrilled the event more after the keynote message was when the various panels were set up to ignite the spark and inspire the participants.
For example, entrepreneurship and business with the topic: How technology is changing business and the world? – Key speakers from the telecom industry like Michaella Mackay from DSTI, Princella Okechwukwu from Orange Foundation, David A.T Kpakima from Metro Limited and Joseph Kebbie from Innovation Center.

Simultaneously, another panel looked at the topic: Balancing Life & Career, can we really do it all? This was a very vibrant spirit-filled session on the challenges and realities of balancing life and career where experts such as Beloz Bangura, Binta Akibo-Betts, Zem Zem Alie and Aminta Kane Balde took time to spark and inspire the participants.
The Beauty Industry-Building Sustainable Business and Activating your inner beauty; Money Matters-How to make it, save it and invest it; The Creative Economy: Sports, Entertainment; The Arts; How people make money from ideas and natural talent were topics which captured the attention of the young participants.
What really inspired a spark was the late afternoon session when Jestina Betts, Director Orange Foundation and member of Power Women 232 took the podium to present the topic: (Personal Power: How to reach your full potential in career. This session was interactive after her very interesting and succinct presentation which gave room to the participants to really express their own views and experiences on the topic and to also ask questions on how one can reach full potential in their career and how to use their personal power.
Ms. Betts thrilled her participants by bringing real life situations and how personal growth, respect for time, discipline, creating smart objectives, mentorship among other personal attributes that can help one reach his/her full career and personal potential. The real truth provoked and made the session extremely interactive.
Attended by young people, they could not skip any of the topics as each one ignited a spark and was climaxed with the discussion: Relationship Matters-Healthy Relationships, Love, Intimacy and everything in between. There was general interest and much interaction between young people when this topic was brought up.
Speaking at the end of the event, several young people including Hawanatu Bangura from IPAM, said this is the best conference she has ever attended as she was able to learn quite a lot of new things she never knew before.
A young entrepreneur Michael yambasu hailed the organizers for such an inspiring and educative panel discussions, adding that he shall put into practice all that he gathered for better productivity in his career.
A young national youth Advocate Amb. Cherinor Moseray said such events must be organized as frequent as possible to always be reminding young people where they are coming from and how to make it in life and that it is not always in the classroom where ideas, experiences and successes are shared. He called on the organizers to hold such events on regular basis and thanked them for what he learned at the conference from the intuitive and inspiring panelists.
