Dr Samura Kamara, leader and Presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress has on Monday 29th May, 2023 officially launched his 2023 manifesto at Lagoonda Complex, Aberdeen Freetown.
Naming his manifesto the “One Nation Manifesto” indexical of how deeply divided Sierra Leone is along ethno-regional lines under the ‘PAOPA’ Bio led administration in the last five years spanning from 2018 – 2023, Dr Samura Kamara predicated his manifesto on ten pillars as follows: 1. Build One Nation – rebuilding national unity and cohesion; 2. Address economic deficiencies and the cost of living crisis at the structural level; 3. Intensify efforts in job creation and the establishment of pathways for every citizen, especially the youth and women to earn a living wage; 4. Accelerate investments in our people, with a specific focus on the capabilities of our children, women and youth; 5. Accelerate investments in physical and digital infrastructure development; 6. Deepen and strengthen decentralisation and rural development; 7. Enhance democratic and governance and the rule of law; 8. Protect our environment and respond to climate change; 9. Strengthen economic diplomacy; and 10. Foster partnerships with the diaspora for national development.
Reechoeing his 2018 campaign slogan, ‘My Sierra Leone My Responsibility,’ the APC Presidential candidate, Dr Samura Kamara, who many Sierra Leoneans believe is the only hope to ameliorate the massive suffering of the people, as well as take the development trajectory of Mama Salone to another level, called on all Sierra Leoneans to join him to rebuild the nation holistically thereby making Sierra Leone a middle income nation in the next five years.
Dr. Samura Kamara likened the June 24th general elections to the Independence the nation gained on 27th April 1961 particularly the unprecedented economic crisis and the massive human rights violations the majority of the people have faced in the hands of the Bio led regime in Sierra Leone among many other critical issues.
The event was attended by the APC party’s officials, members, sympathisers and supporters of the party including members of the diplomatic and consular corp. The media and stakeholders of other different political parties were all in attendance at such a historic occasion.
