At the ongoing 2025 African Political Parties Summit, held at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana, Sierra Leone’s All People’s Congress (APC) is being prominently represented by its Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, alongside other senior party stakeholders.

Speaking during a high-level panel discussion on “The Role of Political Parties in National Development Planning,” Amb. Yansaneh emphasized the pivotal responsibility of political parties in driving a nation’s progress. He stressed that beyond winning elections, political parties should act as architects of a country’s vision—shaping development strategies, formulating sound policies, and fostering unity to ensure sustainable growth.

“Political parties are not merely election machines; they are the vehicles of a nation’s progress,” Yansaneh remarked, adding that effective collaboration between political parties and state institutions is critical to delivering meaningful development to citizens.

The summit brings together political leaders from across Africa to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore collaborative approaches to addressing the continent’s political, social, and economic challenges. Amb. Yansaneh’s contribution highlighted Sierra Leone’s commitment to democratic governance, inclusive policy-making, and long-term national planning.

Further details on his full statement are expected in subsequent updates.
