In a heartfelt address at the Meet and Greet event in Houston on October 18, 2024, Comrade Alfred Kebbie Sesay, the newly appointed Regional Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC) party in the United States, praised the invaluable contributions of women within the APC-USA district.
The event was organized to celebrate the revitalization of the APC-USA district under the leadership of Chairman Suphian Kalokoh, who has played a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and diverse representation in the political arena.
During his remarks, Comrade Sesay emphasized the transformative potential of women in society. He acknowledged their critical role in advocating for justice and fairness while occupying leadership positions that can influence positive change.
“Women are essential to challenging traditional norms and moving towards a more equitable society,” he stated, highlighting the need to recognize and support their contributions.
Sesay also noted that the APC party boasts a significant number of women members, asserting, “When a woman endorses a candidate, it creates a ripple effect, mobilizing further support.”
He cited President Edward Kargbo’s sentiments about women’s complexity and significance in creation, remarking on the profound impact they have on political dynamics.
The chairman’s visit to Houston was not only a gesture of support for the APC but also a tribute to respected figures within the party, particularly Pa Kargbo and his wife, who had supported his candidacy for regional chairman. He acknowledged their encouragement and dedication, which he felt strengthened the party’s diaspora efforts.
Comrade Sesay expressed gratitude to Chairman Suphian Kalokoh and his executive team for their leadership, stating, “They have brought honor not just to the USA but to the entire APC.” He underscored the importance of unity among party members, urging everyone to come together to achieve their collective goals.
He concluded with a call for solidarity, urging members to remain committed to the party’s mission. “If we support each other as a cohesive group, we will achieve great things,” he affirmed, inspiring attendees with his vision for a united and progressive APC in the United States.
