Prominent APC stalwart and philanthropist, Alhaji Sheik Mohamed Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, shared his ambitious vision for Sierra Leone’s future during the inauguration ceremony of the new executive for the Minnesota/Iowa & North Dakota chapter. Serving as the guest of honor, Jagaban delivered an impassioned speech that resonated deeply with attendees, emphasizing his dreams and aspirations for the nation’s development.
Jagaban began by calling on Sierra Leoneans globally to unite in support of the country’s progress. “You don’t need to hold a position of leadership to contribute to development,” he asserted, urging everyone to play their part in facilitating positive change. Highlighting the critical role of the All People’s Congress (APC) in driving the nation towards a brighter future, he expressed confidence that the party is the key to alleviating Sierra Leone from its current hardships. “The APC is the only party that can develop Sierra Leone,” Jagaban declared.
Throughout his address, Jagaban outlined his dreams for Sierra Leone’s advancement. “I have a dream that someday Sierra Leoneans can go to Guinea to transact business and return back in one hour,” he envisioned, reflecting his hopes for improved regional connectivity and infrastructure.
He further elaborated on his vision for modernizing commerce, stating, “I have a dream that market women will be using machines to transact their business and not in cash.” This aspiration underscores his desire for technological advancements that can streamline and secure financial transactions.
Jagaban also shared his hopes for Sierra Leone’s international connectivity. “I have a dream that Sierra Leoneans living abroad can fly directly to Sierra Leone without transiting anywhere,” he said, highlighting the need for direct international flights to boost tourism and business.
Education and child welfare were also central to his vision. “I have a dream that school children will get their lunch in school and parents will not be bothered,” he expressed, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals and a supportive learning environment.
“All this dream is achievable if we all come together to push the APC further,” he concluded, urging unity and collective effort to realize these ambitious goals.
The ceremony culminated with the formal introduction of the new president of the Minnesota/Iowa & North Dakota APC chapter, marking a significant step in the chapter’s efforts to support and advance the party’s mission.
Jagaban’s speech inspired a renewed sense of commitment among attendees to the development and progress of Sierra Leone, echoing deeply with those present and fostering a shared vision for a brighter future.
