Mamoud Kamara, affectionately known as “Nice Guy,” continues to make waves in the West Urban District as he spearheads a determined effort to combat the devastating impact of the drug trade, particularly the proliferation of the dangerous substance known as “Kush.” His relentless advocacy for the eradication of this menace has gained widespread recognition, with his latest initiative capturing national attention.
In a bold move to tackle the issue head-on, Hon. Kamara orchestrated a proactive anti-drug campaign, uniting various stakeholders, including medical professionals and law enforcement agencies. This collaborative effort shows his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the community, especially its vulnerable youth population.
The significance of Hon. Kamara’s anti-drug crusade was further amplified as it took to the airwaves of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). His address was read on the national television SLBC carrying a clarion call for collective action against the scourge of substance abuse, resonating with citizens across the nation.
In a poignant display of solidarity and compassion, Hon. Kamara extended his outreach beyond the anti-drug campaign to embrace the spirit of Ramadan. As a gesture of goodwill during the holy month, he distributed 56 bags of 50kg of rice to over 50 mosques in the Lumley community. Additionally, each mosque received 3,000 Leones to cover transportation costs, ensuring the seamless delivery of essential provisions to those in need.
