Abubakarr Karim Kamara (AKK), a senior member of the All People’s Congress (APC), has demanded transparency from the government regarding the locations of Sierra Leone’s three operational rice mills, but State House Communications Director Myk Berewa failed to provide an answer.

The issue arose during a discussion on President Bio’s recent state opening speech, in which Berewa highlighted the government’s “Feed Salone” initiative aimed at boosting agriculture and food security. AKK challenged the claim, pointing out that he has no knowledge of the operational rice mills mentioned by the President.

When pressed for details, Berewa could not disclose the locations or provide evidence of the mills’ operations. Instead, he urged AKK to investigate the matter himself, asserting that the opposition would have already called out any falsehoods in Parliament.

AKK’s questioning has raised concerns about the government’s accountability and the transparency of its agricultural programs, with many observers noting the need for clear, verifiable information on national initiatives.
