Former Ambassador to South Korea and former APC Flagbearer candidate, Omrie Golley has presented cash and food items amounting to millions of Leones to grassroot supporters at APC party headquarters in Freetown.
The donation was the second of such gesture to the party’s grassroots from the APC strongman. A similar gesture was made in January this year to the disabled wing, taskforce, women’s wing, youth wing and several other groups within the party’s edifice.
Making his presentation, Ambassador Omrie Golley reaffirmed his commitment to the party despite losing the Flagbearer contest at the Makeni Convention last month. He also took the opportunity to congratulate the new APC Flagbearer, Dr Samura Kamara and pledged his commitment to work with him for a resounding victory in the June 2023 elections. Ambassador Golley called on all party supporters to embrace the new realities and work hard to bring the party back to power in 2023.
Receiving the donations, newly elected National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq appreciated the gesture on behalf of the beneficiary groups adding that; “It is only people who have the party at heart will think of supporting those working for the party. You are the kind of persons the party needs at this time…” Mr Dumbuya recalled how Ambassador Omrie Golley was among the first candidates to call and congratulate the APC Flagbearer in a show of comradeship and genuine party solidarity.
