Songo Town in the Western Area Rural District was electrified with excitement and political energy on Sunday, May 11, 2025, as residents came out in large numbers to welcome prominent APC 2028 Flagbearer aspirant Ady Macauley.
From Songo Junction, a vibrant and colorful convoy of motorbike riders, women’s groups, youth, and community elders paraded through the heart of the village, proudly rallying around a man they call their “leader, brother, comrade, and friend.”

This historic visit marked the first time an aspiring 2028 APC Flagbearer had set foot in the community during this political season—a gesture that was not lost on the people of Songo. The village came alive with chants, drumming, and singing as a sea of red-clad supporters demonstrated their overwhelming endorsement of Macauley’s vision for “better and sustainable change” in Sierra Leone.
Speaking at the town gathering, the village Chairlady praised Ady Macauley for his humility, accessibility, and unwavering dedication to grassroots engagement. “He has not only come to speak to us because we consider him part of the Songo community,” she said, “but to listen, to understand our needs, and to offer solutions rooted in action as an elder and stakeholder of our family.”

The Youth Leader echoed similar sentiments, calling Macauley “a beacon of hope” for Sierra Leone’s younger generation and lauding his consistent efforts to champion national and party affairs with boldness and clarity.
In a strong show of loyalty and trust, the people of Songo pledged their full support to Ady Macauley, committing themselves to his candidacy as their chosen APC Flagbearer and future president of Sierra Leone. Many in the crowd lifted placards and banners proclaiming their allegiance, while traditional leaders blessed his ambition with heartfelt prayers.

Visibly moved by the rousing welcome, Ady Macauley expressed deep appreciation for the love and solidarity shown to him. He assured the people of Songo that their trust would not be in vain. In a symbolic and practical gesture of his commitment, he pledged to equip the Songo town hall with solar panels—a much-needed development that will empower the community and catalyze local growth.
“As a son of Songo, I am not here to make promises—I am here for us to talk as a family about sustainable progress,” he declared. “We are on a path toward transformation, and I am proud to walk it with you.

”The day ended with cheers, handshakes, traditional dances, and renewed hope that under Ady Macauley’s leadership, both Songo and Sierra Leone can move toward a future of unity, development, and opportunity for all.
