Leading contender for the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer position, Ady Macauley, has intensified his nationwide engagement with a high-energy tour of Falaba and Koinadugu Districts, drawing massive support from grassroots communities and youth across the regions.
On Monday, Macauley received a hero’s welcome in Gbindi, a remote but politically significant town on the border with Guinea. Residents, many of whom say they have long felt neglected by successive governments, poured into the streets to meet the man they hail as “The People’s Advocate.”

Addressing hundreds of supporters in Gbindi Ataya Base, Ady Macauley emphasized his commitment to restoring dignity, justice, and opportunity to marginalized communities. “I’ve stood with you in difficult times — during elections, in courtrooms, and when your voices were silenced. I am here now to continue that fight on a larger platform,” he told the crowd.
Gbindi, despite its underdevelopment, holds strategic importance due to its border location and growing youth population. Locals say Ady Macauley’s consistent presence in the region — especially during post-election unrest — has set him apart from other politicians.“He never abandoned us,” said a youth activist in Falaba.

“When others disappeared, Ady Macauley was on the frontline, defending young people who were unfairly targeted.”Ady Macauley’s influence in Falaba, Kabala and other parts of Koinadugu is steadily growing. His legal interventions on behalf of victims of political intimidation have earned him widespread respect, particularly among youth and first-time voters.
With the APC party preparing for its national delegates’ conference, Macauley’s campaign is gaining momentum. Political observers say his current tour — marked by direct engagement with rural voters — is the most vigorous among the aspirants vying for the party’s presidential ticket.Local leaders in Falaba have praised Ady Macauley’s approach, calling it people-centered and timely.

“He speaks with clarity, but more importantly, he listens,” said leaders of Gbindi Town. “That’s the kind of leadership this country needs.”With calls for generational change growing louder within the APC, Macauley’s message of justice, youth empowerment, and grassroots solidarity is striking a chord across northern Sierra Leone.
His continued engagements in hard-to-reach communities reflect what supporters describe as “a movement, not just a campaign.”With the 2028 elections drawing closer, all eyes will be on how candidates like Ady Macauley transform local loyalty into national momentum.

For the people of Gbindi, however, the choice already seems clear.
