In response to the statutory deadline passing on March 31, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has officially extended the timeline for the declaration of income, assets, and liabilities by public officers. As outlined under Section 119(4) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008 (as Amended in 2019), this extension aims to provide public officers with additional time to fulfill their legal obligations.

The new deadline is now set for on or before April 30, 2024, granting public officers a crucial opportunity to comply with the requirements stipulated in Section 119(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008 (as Amended in 2019).

Non-compliance with this mandatory declaration is considered a default, subjecting individuals to administrative sanctions prescribed in Section 122A(1) of the Amendment. These sanctions encompass various measures, including the withholding of salary, suspension, and, in cases of prolonged non-compliance, dismissal from public office.

The ACC emphasizes the importance of timely and accurate submission of declaration forms. Public officers encountering any challenges during the declaration process are encouraged to promptly communicate their concerns to facilitate swift resolution. The ACC emphasizes the importance of timely and accurate submission of declaration forms.
