The ABDALLAH SESAY FOUNDATION has on Sunday , the 2nd May, 2021 donated foodstuffs and boxes of Qurans to fifteen (15) mosques, youth groups and community stakeholders in Constituency 122, in the Western Area Urban, Freetown.
It is apparent to all Muslims that Ramadan is one of the most important months in the Islamic Calendar and it accompanies with it tremendous blessings for any act of kindness that is done in the course of the month. On that note, the foundation thought it fit to benefit from that blessing by making the above-stated donations.
Each mosque was given a bag of rice, some bundles of water and copies of the Holy Quran. Few bags of rice were further distributed among the stakeholders and youth groups in the constituency. The donation is primarily geared towards supporting the Muslim community within the constituency during this month of Ramadan.
According to some of the beneficiaries, this is the first donation they have received since the commencement of this year’s Ramadan. Alpha Yahya Bangura of Jamiul Aqsa Susu Mosque, Boyle St said they will use the items for it intended purposes. He said the rice will be used to make food for worshipers to break fast (Iftar) whilst the copies of the Holy Quran will be distributed among the Imams.
Members of Kossoh Tong Youth Organisation who also benefitted from the philanthropic gesture of the Foundation showered praises for the Chairman of ASF Mr Abdallah Ahmad Sesay, whom they described as the father of the Youths in the Constituency.
The program was climaxed with prayers.
