In an interview, Lawyer Saffa revealed that he was asked to step down by the stakeholders for Kofi Deen Nyakoh, confirming that they belong to a group called Football Political Party and that this group asked him to step down from the race. He said the reason they asked him to step down was because of  external forces which they said will only throw their support for Kofi Deen Yakoh and not for Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai.

“I am disappointed at the decision because looking at football for the past 2 years, I am the fittest for that position” he affirmed, noting that he has run and managed the Sierra Leone Premier League as chairman successfully.

Mr. Abdulai could not tell who these external forces are that pushed to step down from the race. He however promised to support and vote for Kofi Deen Nyakoh to win the elections.
