Sierra Leone Association of Women in Journalism (SLAWIJ) is a non-profit corporate body registered in 2020 with the core aim to promote the welfare of female journalists, female media experts and communication practitioners to increase their visibility to transform the media and communication landscape through professional development programmes and advocacy. It stands as a voice of equality and empowerment for female media and communication practitioners in Sierra Leone. Our vision is to build an informed gender sensitive media with empowered women in leadership positions in the media and communication industries. As a female media rights based organization, we are also passionate about empowerment of women across all sectors and regions in Sierra Leone through information sharing and providing a platform for engagement.
CRITERIA:
- Must be a Sierra Leonean
- Must have at least three credits in WASSCE or higher education (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Masters or PhD)
- Must be a full time Journalist, Freelance, Public Relations or Media Expert
- Should have practiced any of the above for at least THREE consecutive years
- Applicants can be University Students in Mass Communication or related field
- Should be willing to show proof of work or University acceptance at interview
- Applicants should prepare for an online interview
A non-refundable registration fee of fifty thousand Leones (Le 50,000) is to be paid in SLAWIJ’s account at Union Trust Bank. Kindly note that ONLY those who meet the criteria will be contacted for interview.
