Dr Kandeh K. Yumkella has expressed appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honourable Mohamed Rahman Swaray, for hosting the West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) Secretariat for a virtual briefing with Sierra Leone’s ambassadors and diplomatic missions worldwide.
Yumkella also thanked the President of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Oluniyi Robbin-Coker, for hosting the WAIIS Secretariat for a similar briefing with the Chamber’s Council.

He called on Sierra Leone’s ambassadors to actively promote President Julius Maada Bio’s vision for WAIIS by identifying credible investors, private-sector leaders, financial institutions, development partners and government stakeholders in their respective host countries.
According to Yumkella, the diplomatic missions are expected to promote Sierra Leone’s investment opportunities, facilitate high-level introductions and encourage international participation in WAIIS 2026.
He explained that the Secretariat would provide the Chamber and diplomatic missions with access to the WAIIS website, investment Deal Rooms, investor briefs and promotional materials to support targeted outreach.
These resources will enable ambassadors and their teams to present priority investment opportunities, secure expressions of interest and connect prospective investors and partners with the Secretariat for follow-up meetings and participation in the summit.

Yumkella said the initiative seeks to mobilise the capital, partnerships and expertise needed to showcase Sierra Leone as an investment destination while advancing regional integration and shared prosperity across West Africa.
