The Director General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Yankuba Askia Bio, has received the Executive Chairman of the Conservation Trust Fund (CTF), Ahmid C. Jalloh, and his team at the Authority as both institutions explored potential areas of collaboration.

The meeting, held at the SLPHA conference room on Thursday, September 17, 2026, provided an opportunity for the CTF delegation to introduce the Fund and discuss possible areas of cooperation, particularly in revenue mobilisation to support its conservation initiatives.

Welcoming the delegation, Bio congratulated Jalloh on his appointment as Executive Chairman of the CTF and expressed the SLPHA’s willingness to support initiatives aimed at protecting Sierra Leone’s wetlands and marine ecosystems.

Bio encouraged the CTF to formally submit details of proposed areas of collaboration to the Authority for consideration. He also expressed his readiness to work with the Fund on initiatives focused on the protection and management of Sierra Leone’s biodiversity.

The engagement forms part of efforts by the CTF to strengthen partnerships with institutions that can contribute to the financing and implementation of conservation initiatives across the country.

The meeting was attended by SLPHA Director of Finance Andrew Tamba Kpulun and Director of Technical Services Eustace D. O. Rogers.
