Democracy On the Line... SLPP Leading Presidential Candidate Asserts

Poverty must never become a weapon for political control.

Hon. Musa Tarawally, under his Agenda MT Vision 2028, has raised an important concern about the relationship between poverty, political power and the freedom of the people.

A struggling population can easily become vulnerable to manipulation when survival depends on those who control political and economic opportunities.

But while leaders may have the power to influence people’s circumstances, they should never be allowed to buy their conscience or mortgage their rights.

The poor man’s vote carries the same value as the vote of the rich man.

This is why leadership must be about empowerment, not dependency; about creating opportunities, not exploiting the suffering of the people for political advantage.

Citizens must be educated and economically empowered enough to make decisions based on their convictions and the future they desire.

Hon. Musa Tarawally’s commitment to constructively challenge undemocratic practices sends a message that silence should never become the price citizens pay for political survival.

The people must remain vigilant, hold leaders accountable and refuse to allow temporary benefits to determine their permanent political future.

Agenda MT Vision 2028 stands on a simple but powerful belief: our people may face hardship, but their dignity, conscience and freedom of choice must never be for sale.
