Leading Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) flagbearer aspirant Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Sierra Leone’s democratic values, saying the country’s democracy was achieved through significant sacrifices.

Tarawally made the statement in a message in which he stressed the importance of upholding democratic principles and respecting the norms of democracy.

According to him, Sierra Leone’s democratic journey was “earned through a bloody fight,” involving the loss of lives, destruction of properties and immense suffering.

He argued that politicians who are weak in their commitment to democratic principles may prefer what he described as “coronation,” rather than a genuine democratic process.

“Weak politicians prefer coronation whilst we the strong Democrats and patriots who fought for democracy in Sierra Leone will stand to maintain the democracy we fought for and abide by its norms,” Tarawally stated.

The SLPP flagbearer aspirant further called for the continued protection of democratic values, expressing his belief that Sierra Leoneans should remain committed to national unity and the principles of democratic governance.

He concluded his message with calls for national solidarity, reiterating the slogans: “One Country, One People; One People, One Country; One Nation, One Destiny; One Destiny, One Nation.”

Tarawally also reaffirmed his support for the SLPP, describing the party as “The Only Way Out, The Only Way Forward, and The Only Way Through,” while emphasising what he termed “Power to the People.”

The statement was issued under his Agenda MT Vision 2028, signalling his continued political ambitions ahead of the 2028 political cycle.
