The newly appointed Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, is expected to appear before Parliament on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, as part of the approval process for his appointment.

Jalloh, who brings extensive experience from the financial sector, has pledged to introduce a new direction in the management of NASSIT, Sierra Leone’s largest non-banking financial institution.

“I am committed to leading NASSIT and creating a lasting legacy for all Sierra Leoneans,” Jalloh said.

Ahead of his parliamentary appearance, the new Director General paid a courtesy visit to his ancestral hometown of Dogolonya on Saturday, August 1, 2026, where family members and residents formally congratulated him on his appointment.

During the visit, the family expressed appreciation to President Julius Maada Bio for selecting Jalloh to lead the national pension institution, describing the appointment as a recognition of his competence and integrity.

In response, Jalloh thanked President Bio for the confidence placed in him and said leadership should be viewed as a responsibility to serve rather than a position of status.

He assured his community that he would carry out his duties with transparency, dedication, and integrity, while seeking their prayers and support as he prepares to take on the responsibility of managing NASSIT.
