Lawyers from across Sierra Leone are expected to head to the polls tomorrow to elect a new leadership for the Sierra Leone Bar Association, with presidential candidate Martina Baindu Egbenda receiving growing endorsements from members who believe she is best placed to unite the legal profession. Her campaign has consistently centered on restoring unity, professionalism, and confidence within the Bar.

Speaking ahead of the election, a young lawyer expressed confidence in Martina’s leadership, describing her as a unifying figure capable of healing divisions within the Association.

“Tomorrow presents me with an opportunity to cast my vote for Martina because she represents unity and togetherness,” the young lawyer said. “She is the kind of leader our Bar needs at this critical moment. I believe she has the capacity to bring members together following the unfortunate incident in Kenema and restore the dignity and cohesion of our Association.”

The endorsement reflects a growing sentiment among some members of the legal fraternity who believe the Bar Association requires inclusive leadership capable of fostering dialogue, strengthening professional relationships, and advancing the collective interests of lawyers across the country. Martina’s campaign message has emphasized reconciliation, institutional reforms, and a renewed commitment to serving every member of the Association.
