OPWA President Fires Up P.O.W Brass Band Ahead of Albert Academy Clash

Ahead of the highly anticipated National Brass Band League semi-final clash between the Prince of Wales (P.O.W.) Brass Band and the Albert Academy (A.A.) Brass Band, the newly elected President of the Old Prince Waleans Association (OPWA), Samuel E F John, has inspired the P.O.W. Brass Band team with a message of unity, determination, and victory.

President SEF John visited the Prince of Wales School compound on Thursday, where he observed the team’s training session and commended the players for their commitment and discipline as they prepare for Saturday’s crucial encounter.

Addressing the team after training, he assured the players that the OPWA executive stands firmly behind them and is committed to providing the support needed to help them overcome Albert Academy Brsss Band and ultimately win the National Brass Band League title.

He urged the players to remain focused, work together as a team, and represent the proud traditions of Prince of Wales School with determination and excellence.

President SEF John also called on all Princewaleans, both at home and abroad, to rally behind the team by offering their support and encouragement as they pursue championship glory.

“The entire OPWA executive is behind you,” he told the players. “We believe in your ability, and we are confident that with unity, discipline, and determination, you can defeat Albert Academy and go on to lift the trophy.”

Inspired by the encouragement from the alumni leadership, the P.O.W. Brass Band team reaffirmed its determination to win the tournament and uphold the school’s proud legacy. Drawing inspiration from the lion, the school’s symbol of strength and courage the players are determined to roar to victory, sing their school anthem in celebration, and bring the championship trophy back to Prince of Wales School.
