The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has assured the public that measures are being taken to address ongoing cybersecurity incidents affecting digital services in Sierra Leone.

In a public notice issued on Thursday, 30th July 2026, NatCA said it is closely monitoring the situation and working alongside relevant government institutions, law enforcement agencies, licensed telecommunications operators, and other key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response.

The Authority, which regulates Sierra Leone’s electronic communications sector, said protecting the security, resilience, and integrity of the country’s digital communications infrastructure remains a priority.

NatCA has urged communications service providers and digital platforms to strengthen their cybersecurity systems, promptly report any security incidents, and comply with established cybersecurity standards to help safeguard digital services.

The Authority also called on members of the public to remain cautious while using online platforms by avoiding suspicious links and messages, protecting personal information, and enabling multi-factor authentication where available.

NatCA emphasised that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility requiring the collective efforts of regulators, service providers, institutions, and citizens.

The Authority further assured the public that it will continue monitoring developments and provide updates through its official communication channels, while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance Sierra Leone’s cyber resilience.
