IMATT College has announced an immediate internal investigation into allegations that a member of its staff requested an unofficial payment from a student in connection with his academic and examination status.

In an official statement issued on Saturday, 25 July 2026, the College said it became aware of the allegations through a publication by Born 2 Blog involving a student from its East End Campus.

The institution stressed that it takes the matter seriously and made it clear that no member of staff is authorised to solicit, receive, or negotiate private payments from students outside the College’s approved financial procedures and official payment channels.

While noting that the claims remain allegations that have not been independently verified, IMATT College said the issues raised concern academic integrity, financial accountability, and student welfare, making it necessary to launch an immediate fact-finding investigation.

As part of the investigation, the College has invited the student concerned or Born 2 Blog to submit any receipts, transaction records, messages, recordings, correspondence, or other relevant evidence to assist investigators in establishing the facts.

The College further stated that the staff member named in the allegation will be given a fair opportunity to respond, while investigators will also review the student’s academic and examination records to determine the circumstances surrounding his reported inability to enter the examination hall.

IMATT College emphasised that it will not prejudge either the student or the staff member involved. It said appropriate disciplinary and other measures would be taken if the investigation confirms staff misconduct. Conversely, if significant aspects of the allegations are found to be inaccurate, the College pledged to make the correct facts public.

The institution also acknowledged the role of responsible journalism and social media commentators, commending Born 2 Blog for seeking the College’s response and acknowledging that the allegations had not been independently verified.

Reaffirming its commitment to academic integrity, transparent financial administration, fairness, and accountability, IMATT College reminded students that all authorised payments must be made only through officially approved payment channels and supported by official receipts or institutional documentation.

The College also encouraged students to promptly report any requests for private or unofficial payments to the administration.

IMATT College concluded by urging the public to allow the investigation to run its course before drawing conclusions about the student, the staff member, or the institution, adding that a further statement will be issued when appropriate.
