Former Bar Association President Eddinia Swallow Endorses Martina Egbenda for Presidency

Former President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA), Eddinia Michaela Swallow, has publicly endorsed legal practitioner Martina Baindu Egbenda for the presidency of the Association ahead of the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) elections.

In her endorsement, Swallow described Egbenda as the right candidate for the role at this time, praising her personal and professional qualities.

“There can be no better legal practitioner for this role at this time. A people’s person, down to earth, humble but firm when necessary. All the best Martina Egbenda, I trust in your ability to bring us together,” Swallow stated.

Her endorsement comes as preparations intensify for the SLBA 2026 AGM elections, where Martina Baindu Egbenda has emerged as a leading contender for the presidency.

Egbenda has formally launched her campaign, positioning it on a platform of unity, professionalism, and institutional reform within the legal profession.

Her campaign slogan, “Unite. Renew. Empower. Lead.”, outlines what she describes as a roadmap aimed at rebuilding confidence in the SLBA through inclusive leadership and a more responsive administrative structure.

The upcoming SLBA elections are expected to be closely watched as members of the Bar prepare to choose leadership that will guide the Association into a new administrative term.
