Aspiring flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Ady Macauley, on Friday joined Muslim worshippers at Masjid Mustahan in the Kamanda Farm area near PWD Junction in Constituency 120, east-end of Freetown, to observe the last Juma prayers.

Macauley, who grew up in the community, described the moment as humbling as he stood in prayer alongside elders, youths, political party members, and other congregants united in their hopes for the nation.

In a message shared after the prayers, he said his political aspirations remain rooted in faith and the belief that leadership is ultimately ordained by God. He referenced the Holy Qur’an, citing Surah Al-Imran (3:26), which states that Allah grants authority to whom He wills and removes it from whom He wills.

According to Macauley, the verse serves as a powerful reminder that leadership is both a trust and a responsibility that must be exercised with humility and accountability.

“As an aspiring flag bearer candidate in the APC, I remain guided by faith and the belief that true leadership comes from God,” he noted.

He further prayed for wisdom, humility, and the strength to serve the people of Sierra Leone with sincerity and justice, while expressing hope that the country will continue to grow in unity, peace, and opportunity for all.

Macauley’s engagement with worshippers in the east-end community forms part of his continued outreach as political activities within the APC intensify ahead of the party’s future leadership contest.
