The National Secretariat of the All People’s Congress (APC) has officially announced the opening of applications for members interested in contesting for Constituency Executive positions within the party.
According to a public notice issued by the Secretariat, the process is being conducted in line with Section 16 of the APC Party Elections Rules and Regulations, which have been duly gazetted by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), and in accordance with provisions outlined in the APC Constitution (2022).
The party stated that eligible members can submit their applications through the APC’s online portal or through manual submissions. The move forms part of the party’s internal democratic process aimed at strengthening its grassroots leadership structures across the country.
Application Fees
The APC has also announced approved fees for members intending to contest for the various positions.
For the position of Constituency Chairman, aspiring candidates are required to pay a candidature fee of Le500 (Five Hundred New Leones) and an additional Le100 (One Hundred New Leones) for the application form.
Meanwhile, members seeking to contest for all other Constituency Executive positions will pay a candidature fee of Le250 (Two Hundred and Fifty New Leones) and Le50 (Fifty New Leones) for the application form.
Distribution of Forms
The National Secretariat confirmed that hard copies of the constituency candidature forms have already been dispatched to Regional Chairmen for onward distribution to districts and constituencies across Sierra Leone. This is intended to ensure that members in all regions have access to the application process.
Eligibility Requirements
The notice further emphasized that all applicants must meet the eligibility requirements stipulated in Article 55(f) of the APC Constitution (2022). According to the provision, any member seeking to be elected as a Constituency Officer must have been a registered and fully paid-up member of the party for a continuous period of not less than two years.
The Secretariat therefore advised interested members to ensure that their membership subscription obligations are fully up to date before submitting their applications.
Payment Procedures
In a move to promote transparency and efficiency, the party strongly encouraged members to make payments for candidature fees through its dedicated Orange Money Merchant Code: 271703.
Members can complete the transaction by dialing #144412271703#, entering the required amount, providing the candidate’s full name as reference, and confirming the payment with their Orange Money secret PIN.
For membership subscription payments, members are required to dial #1443131512#* and enter their Membership ID, which consists of two letters representing their initials, followed by six digits, a hyphen, and seven additional digits as indicated on their APC biometric membership ID card.
After confirming the displayed details, members can select the preferred duration of payment ranging from one month to twelve months before entering their Orange Money PIN to complete the transaction.
The APC noted that payments made through Orange Money will be verified seamlessly and in real time through the party’s digital membership platform.
While Orange Money remains the preferred payment method, the party also stated that payments can be made through its account at Rokel Commercial Bank where necessary.
The notice added that a copy of the announcement has been formally shared with the Political Parties Regulation Commission for official notification.
