The First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, has welcomed millionaire entrepreneur and goodwill ambassador Hamed Almaqtary in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
Lekjaa, who has served as President of the FRMF since 2014 and assumed office as CAF’s First Vice President in 2025, received Ambassador Almaqtary on the eve of the AFCON final, which is being hosted in the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the meeting, Lekjaa expressed appreciation to Ambassador Almaqtary for travelling to Morocco to grace the AFCON 2025 finals, describing his presence as a strong show of support for African football.

The visit by Ambassador Almaqtary has been widely welcomed by several CAF federation presidents, who view it as a positive gesture that underscores growing international support for the development of football across the African continent.
Ambassador Hamed Almaqtary, a prominent and influential figure in the Arab world, rose to notable prominence in 2024 and has been actively involved in major global football initiatives, including promotional engagements linked to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He continues to maintain a strong international profile and remains actively engaged in advocacy efforts aligned with FIFA’s broader vision under its President, Gianni Infantino. While in Morocco, Ambassador Almaqtary also interacted with several football personalities, further strengthening ties between global sports stakeholders and African football leadership.
